“Rejection teaches you perseverance and how to get tough. And you learn [that] not every path is right for you.”Reese WitherspoonRejection, no matter the circ*mstances, can be challenging to accept. Whether it's the job role you're coveting, the friendship you were hoping for, admission to graduate school, or not being picked for a team, the sting of rejection is universal. Regardless of age or experience, we've all faced moments where we weren't chosen, and it's natural to feel discouraged.Being passed over can be crushing, and it's difficult not to take it personally. However, when we allow ourselves the perspective of hindsight, we often find that what seemed like a setback was steering us towards a better path. It's important to remember that there will always be those who consider any of us "too" something – too loud, too quiet, too ambitious, too cautious. But these judgments often say more about the judge than the judged. For many navigating a job search in an incredibly challenging and unpredictable market, it's crucial to find those who support and lift you up. Surround yourself with people who recognize your worth and encourage your growth, even in the face of rejection.Remember, rejection is not failure – it's an opportunity for reflection, learning, and redirection towards what truly aligns with your path.#rejection #redirection #reflection #TOO #learn #perseverance

It is so hard..... I am grateful that I took myself out of that orbit when it comes to job search, but this is still an issue that I face because we all do. We can be rejected for a job, for a house, by a client, the list is endless. I truly have to believe that what is meant for us will find us. The road isn't linear and that's ok. I do hope that everyone in job search has a productive and fruitful week.

I love the phrase “rejection is te universe’s protection.” As you say, it could be hard to digest. But it’s because there are bigger, better plans out there waiting for you! Love your post Julie Marcus (She-Her-Hers)

Do not personalize rejection...reframe it and think of rejection as redirection (of friends, efforts, job etc) With that said, it is not always easy to do.

I so wish I could reject this, but I know the growth potential. We must eject the negative and focus on the opportunity for something we have yet to discover. Thanks, Julie Marcus (She-Her-Hers) .

There is a definitive difference between the phrases “empower” to “in power.” Women 'in power' actively exercise authority, make decisions, and drive change. This phrase conveyed a more assertive and impactful stance versus 'empowered,' which can imply asking and getting permission from others to do something. #empower #inpower #women

The many contributions workers have made to America's strength, prosperity, and well-being are endless and continuous. Labor propels our economy. Labor has allowed many to purchase homes, pay for schools and the basic necessities of daily life. #labor #laborday #workers

👻 👺 👻 👺Halloween is in October not now! 👻 👺 👻 👺 The conversation ☎ about 'ghost jobs' 👻 👺 is very real. For job seekers, discerning fact from fiction is challenging. While companies need market intelligence 🧠 , why not simply engage in direct conversations☎? People are often willing to discuss their roles when approached honestly. Informational interviews are commonplace - why not utilize these instead of posting potentially non-existent roles? This approach could build beneficial relationships for all parties involved, fostering transparency and trust in the job market.#ghostjobs #intelligencegathering #jobseekers

Who did not watch some aspect of the 2024 Olympics? From the first moment to the last, boats gliding down the Seine, seeing the incredible talent from all over the world, & ending with a spectacular closing ceremony with Tom Cruise "dropping" in all were engaged. Among the many captivating sports, the equestrian events stand out as particularly fascinating & in my view, offer unique parallels to the professional world. No one can dispute that the athletes are among the best of the best. Each has a story that adds to their achievements. Hours of training, the grit to stay engaged, lack of financial support, being from a war-torn country, fighting to regain their spot in their sport. The athletes who are not given as much exposure but are particularly important to the games are the horses. These beauties come from all over & are incredibly skilled, talented & loyal athletes in their own right. They are focused, determined, driven & have incredible relationships with their riders. I marvel at the three-day event which is grueling & requires extreme focus to stay safe across diverse types of terrain with jumps that can be over six feet high. Dressage is a true example of collaboration & partnership in a very tightly controlled environment where you are scored on specific steps & behaviors. The freestyle in dressage is a beautiful dance of horse to music. If you did not catch Brit Becky Moody on Jagerbomb freestyling to Tom Jones's song "Sex Bomb" it is worth the watch. Show jumping in the ring is incredibly exciting following a specific course that is jumped at high speeds with high jumps. The ability of these four-legged athletes to bend, speed up, & sail over single and multiple jumps is pure artistry. Their ability to stretch themselves to hit their marks is true poetry in motion. If you have read this far, you might be wondering why I have focused on equestrian events. I see strong parallels between these Olympic sports & the job search process. Like riders & their horses, job seekers must form strong partnerships with potential employers, demonstrating their ability to work collaboratively towards shared goals. We must 'stretch' ourselves like show jumpers, pushing beyond our comfort zones to stand out from other candidates. Like dressage performers, we need to highlight our skills within the structured environment of interviews and assessments, while also demonstrating our ability to 'freestyle' & adapt to unexpected challenges. In the job search, as in equestrian events, there are moments of uncertainty. When these doubts creep in, think of these incredible equine athletes and their riders. Remember the intense training they undergo & the goals they have achieved. Like them, we must keep our eyes forward, stretching ourselves to hit our mark. We may encounter obstacles, but with focus & determination, we can clear each hurdle, stay in the saddle, & move confidently toward our next professional opportunity. #stretch #partnership #determination
