It's easy to claim your prize. This table illustrates where you can claim different prize levels. We recommend that players contact the Texas Lottery® claim center in their area, or call 800-375-6886, for hours of operation and to be certain they have all the necessary information prior to traveling to Austin or any Texas Lottery claim center. Please allow 4-8 weeks for claims that are mailed in to be processed.

Prizes Claimed at Retailer Locations

All retailers are authorized, but not required, to pay prizes of $599 or less. Retailers are not required to keep cash on hand to pay all tickets. They have the option of paying by check or money order. If they choose to pay by money order, they may not charge the player any fee for the money order.

$599 or less can be claimed at:

Prizes Claimed at Claim Centers and at Texas Lottery Commission Headquarters

Prizes less than or equal to $2,500,000, and that are not paid by annuities, may be claimed at any Texas Lottery claim center.

Prizes less than or equal to $5,000,000, and that are not paid by annuities, may be claimed at Texas Lottery claim centers in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio.

Prizes greater than $5,000,000, all Lotto Texas®, Powerball® and Mega Millions® jackpot prizes, and prizes paid by annuities must be processed at Texas Lottery headquarters in Austin. If you believe you are a holder of such a ticket, please call 800-375-6886 to complete an initial inquiry on your ticket and to schedule an appointment to complete the processing of your claim.

Prizes Claimed by Mail

Prizes of $1 to $5,000,000 may also be claimed by mail. The Texas Lottery Commission must check claims over a certain amount for state warrant holds and IRS reporting. Therefore, U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens are required to provide a Social Security/Tax ID Number to claim prizes of $25 or more and require a claim form for processing.

  • Fill out a Claim Form online and print for postal mailing,
  • Send us an e-mail to request a form,
  • Go to your local retailer for a form, or
  • Call us for a form at 800-37-LOTTO (800-375-6886).

When calling, writing, or emailing us for a form, be sure to include your name, mailing address and a daytime phone number with area code.

Mailing Instructions

If you claim your prize by mail, please sign and mail your ticket. Prizes of $25 or more also require a claim form for processing.

Risk of loss remains with the claimant when mailing tickets.

Deadlines for Claiming Prizes

A ticket holder forfeits any claim to a prize for a draw game after the expiration of the 180th day following the draw date; and for a scratch ticket game after the expiration of the 180th day following the official "end of game" as determined by the Commission. These deadlines may be extended for a period of time for certain "eligible" military personnel. If you believe you are "eligible," you may contact our Customer Service Hotline at 800-37-LOTTO (800-375-6886) for additional details.

Claims subject to applicable laws, rules, procedures and final decisions of the Executive Director.

Mobile

It is now easier for you to claim your prizes !

  • Make sure your financial institution accepts Zelle® payments prior to submitting a mobile claim.
  • Scan a Valid Draw or Scratch Ticket with the Check My Ticket function on the Mobile App, with a prize value between ($600-$5000.)
  • You will need to Log in or Register for a Mobile Claim and provide your personal information including Mailing Address, Legal Name, Social Security Number, Citizenship/Residency (to determine tax withholdings.)
  • You must be 18 years of age or older to register for a Mobile Claim.
  • Keep your ticket until your claim is paid.
  • Only one ticket per Mobile Claim.

Acceptable Identification

Proper identification is defined as one of the following documents or combination of documents:

  • Valid State issued Driver's License with picture
  • Valid State issued Temporary Driver's License with picture
  • Valid State issued Identification Card with picture
  • Valid Temporary State issued Identification Card with picture
  • Valid United States Veteran's or Military Identification or Medical Card with picture
  • Valid Temporary State issued Driver's License (no picture) or Temporary State issued Identification Card (no picture) AND one of the following:
    • Student Identification Card (with picture) – higher education (no high school IDs)
    • Social Security Card (original no copies)
    • Expired State issued Driver's License (with picture)
    • Expired State issued Identification Card (with picture)
    • Certificate of Naturalization
  • Birth Certificate (Original or Certified Copy) AND one of the following:
    • Student Identification Card (with picture) – higher education (no high school IDs)
    • Social Security Card (original no copies)
    • Expired State issued Driver's License (with picture)
    • Expired State issued Identification Card (with picture)
  • Valid Passport (with picture)
  • Resident Alien Identification, Employment Authorization, Border CrossingCard (with picture) or Consulate Card issued in the United States.
  • Acceptable Proof of Social Security (EIN or TIN)
    • Social Security Card
    • Recent Pay Stub (within past calendar year).
    • Recent W-2 or W-9 (within past calenar year).
    • Health Insurance Identification Card with Social Security Number
    • Recent SS4 (within past calendar year).

Note: The name associated with the Social Security Number, EIN or TIN must match the name on the accepted identification.
